What is 30 Seconds To Mars, you ask? I’m relieved that you don’t know. If you do, I trust you understand where I’m coming from and where I’m about to go to with this post.
30 Seconds To Mars is the pathetic attempt at an emo rock outfit piggy-backed desperately upon the ruins of early-nineties teen hearthrob Jared Leto’s career. Yes, our girl readers all remember him from My So Called Life where he strung uggo Clare Danes along for a season or two. He was cute then. Then he did bit parts in Fight Club and Alexander, and had a brief dalliance with critical acclaim in Darren Aronofsky’s questionable Requiem For A Dream.
Now he dresses like a girl and imagines he can sing. It’s embarrassing.
Worst of all - or, indeed, best of all - the Aussies have taken a shining to him and his loser band. Apparently 30 Seconds To Mars stole the show at the recently-held Aussie MTV VMAs, once again proving that our friends Down Under have absolutely no taste whatsoever.
Except, of course, for Silverchair, who received a Video Vanguard Award. And then only really because Silverchair’s lead singer, Daniel Johns, is married to Natalie Imbruglia. Who is lovely, but clearly, being Australian, has questionable taste in husbands. Sad, sad.
Anyways. That’s all for now. 30 Seconds From Mars. I urge you to hate them as much as I do. You’ll be a better person for it.

They’re my new car CD for the time being, and I’ll have to agree with Rich as well on this one, they are awesome. Maybe its not your type of music. They have rather simple lyrics, which don’t seem to make much sense at times, but sheesh, give em a chance :>

30 Seconds are a little hard to get into. But they’re one of those bands who gets better with each listen.
I also don’t see the band riding the coat-tails of his acting carreer. I would say it’s the other way around…
30 Seconds to Mars fucking rock. Although, I do think ol’ Jared is a little too good looking. Bastard.

I’m not going to cus u out or ask u what the hell you have against them, but I will tell u for a fact that u must have a really closed mind when it comes to music. Anyone who will pretty much post a hate site for a band, well, its pretty sad. And from reading the other reviews and comments, well, doesnt seem like a lot of people really agree with you. I personally think that theyre a good band, hell , why would i be looking up pictures for an art assignment and happen to find your then? Then again, this is only my opinion, and I’m sure that you have yours. Jeez. I hate them even more than when I first wrote this post. Yes, they look stupid. More importantly, they’re third rate talent with lame lyrics and next to zero originality. I’ve heard it all before and I hated it the first time round.

I have to agree with the post, this band is nothing but an act, you simply can not compare them with the greats (Pearl Jam etc). for the guys that say that this is your favorite band, feel bad for you, must be horrible to have such bad taste in music.

You shouldn’t completely hate something for only just listening to it once or twice. You have to give some things a chance. I didn’t automatically love 30 seconds to mars, but after a few times when my brother forced me to listen to them, I started to like it. Now I could listen to them for hours on end. So what if the lyrics are pointless? Not many are nowadays. So what if Jared’s singing isn’t the best out there? Nobody can be great when its supposed to be an emo band. And 30 seconds to mars might not be your kind of thing, but a lot of people seem to love them. I’ve only seen a couple people that agree with you. Everyone has their own opinion, and I respect that. But no one is going to think highly of a person who creates a website just to bash a band. Especially if they’re as great as 30 seconds to mars is. (fuck you, I love 30stm)

you know what too? Silverchair isn’t as great as you put them out to be. Honestly, I never heard of them until I saw one of their videos on VH1. And I still didn’t think they were as good as you think. Obviously you have no taste in music at all. You probably only know less than 1,000 songs like anyone else in this world. I certaintly know like five times that or more. I’m sick of people going around and saying this band sucks, and if you don’t think so too, then there’s something wrong with you! I hate it when people say, go listen to some “real music.” Everyone has a right to listen to the genre they like. If you don’t like it, don’t say anything . If you don’t like it, it’s probably not the style you like, but just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean the band sucks. Hey, I love 30stm, but that’s my opinion. And there’s no such thing as a right or wrong opinion.
