What is 30 Seconds To Mars, you ask? I’m relieved that you don’t know. If you do, I trust you understand where I’m coming from and where I’m about to go to with this post.

30 Seconds To Mars is the pathetic attempt at an emo rock outfit piggy-backed desperately upon the ruins of early-nineties teen hearthrob Jared Leto’s career. Yes, our girl readers all remember him from My So Called Life where he strung uggo Clare Danes along for a season or two. He was cute then. Then he did bit parts in Fight Club and Alexander, and had a brief dalliance with critical acclaim in Darren Aronofsky’s questionable Requiem For A Dream.

Now he dresses like a girl and imagines he can sing. It’s embarrassing.

Worst of all – or, indeed, best of all – the Aussies have taken a shining to him and his loser band. Apparently 30 Seconds To Mars stole the show at the recently-held Aussie MTV VMAs, once again proving that our friends Down Under have absolutely no taste whatsoever.

Except, of course, for Silverchair, who received a Video Vanguard Award. And then only really because Silverchair’s lead singer, Daniel Johns, is married to Natalie Imbruglia. Who is lovely, but clearly, being Australian, has questionable taste in husbands. Sad, sad.

Anyways. That’s all for now. 30 Seconds From Mars. I urge you to hate them as much as I do. You’ll be a better person for it.
